I cannot wait to introduce Doubletake Foundation’s Board Members. The individuals who will make up our Board bring years of experience in transplant pulmonology, thoracic transplant leadership, and caregiver passion. They will help continue to steer the missions, values, and vision of Doubletake Foundation.
I am actively working on their bios and will share out this page in an announcement once those are complete.
For now, a little bit about me, Sarah Whitley, the President and Founder of Doubletake Foundation.

Sarah Whitley is a double, double lung transplant recipient. Whitley was diagnosed with a idiopathic bronchiolitis obliterans (fatal lung disease) in 2019, was hit with acute pneumonia in 2021 which led to her first double lung transplant as the next best treatment plan. She received her first double lung transplant around a year and a half after being listed in early November 2022. After 14 months of being able to breathe again, her appendix burst in early 2024 which led to anti-body mediated rejection and required a second double lung transplant in early November 2024.
Since her first double lung transplant, she has wanted to give back and share her experience to help support others going through the same. Over the ups and downs of her transplant journey, she’s had the opportunity to meet people in all areas of transplant and wants to help bridge gaps where she can to make the process better for all those involved whether that is through support kits, resources, a listening ear, and experience sharing events. It is a daunting but such a rewarding journey and it is not possible without the strength of the patients, the determination and care from the medical teams, the caregivers and support networks, and, of course, the donors and their families who selflessly give the miraculous gift of life.
Whitley’s background is in technical product, project, and release management. The organizational and collaborative skills learned over the years in this career help drive the goals of the programs and iterative approaches to how we can continue to improve and pivot to support the needs of patients and caregivers throughout the transplant journey.
